Meet Our Therapists

The Medical Board of Virginia requires that all licensed physical therapists take a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education over every two-year period. Our physical therapists averaged over 300 hours of continuing education over the past two years, a true testament to APT’s therapists’ passion for learning about the human body to best help their patients return pain-free to their daily life, hobbies, or sport. All APT physical therapists specialize in Functional Manual Therapy®. Here is a brief biography about each of our PT's along with one example of their many patient success stories.

“Advanced Physical Therapy came highly recommended to me by a family member who had had great success there. I had excruciating back pain (from sports injuries, several bulging discs, and spinal stenosis) for over 12 years and had been in and out of physical therapy most of that time. My doctor was ready to resort to surgery, something I desperately tried to avoid for years. I tried APT before agreeing to surgery as a last resort. After just a couple treatments from Tim, my pain diminished by 50%. I did my home stretches and exercises religiously and had several more treatments. My pain now varies from minimal to non-existent. Tim and the other therapists at APT changed my life! The manual therapy and manipulation, along with the exercises I learned, allowed me to go on vacation with my family for the first time in 10 years. I recommend APT every chance I get!”

“I have learned how to keep myself pain free through my work with Jane. I am getting back to running after feeling like I never would again. The exercises were useful and beneficial and I felt like my work at home was greatly enhanced by the manual therapy. Jane’s attention to detail, structural knowledge, and problem-solving approach unlocked the mystery of my sharp, debilitating back pain. Many, many thanks.”

“I was recommended to APT by several friends. I’ve always been a pretty active person. When I came in for therapy though, my issue was so bad that even sitting in the wrong position hurt. Walking and standing were extremely difficult, and anything athletic was virtually impossible. Several therapy sessions later, my pain is gone, and I can do almost everything I could do before. Ruth and her manual therapy skills gave me back my quality of life. It’s fantastic!”
